St. Rita’s performance on last Saturday versus New York’s Christ the King left some local observers scratching their heads.  Their lackluster play and one on one scheme illustrated why they were routed 87-56 at the UIC Pavilion.  “Their defense was on life support, Kentucky signee Charles Matthews, transfer senior Kain Harris and Tennessee State signee Armani Chaney will have to embrace the fact that expectations await them almost nightly.  Collectively they are going to have to play at a high level consistently.  The trio have to find ways of integrating six foot eight big man Miles Carter during the course of a game making him accountable, he could be the key to their season’s fortunes.

Sergio McClain recorded his first win as a high-school coach when his Champaign Central squad defeated Normal West in 3 over-times 52-49 on a forty-foot shot at the buzzer by senior center Luke Beesley.  “We are super happy for Serg & his team . . . “

The rumors are swirling that 6-2 sophomore sharp shooter A.J. Youngman leaving Morton High-School in Central Illinois, isn’t true.  Despite of the family house being up for sale.  Jim Youngman, A.J.’s dad negated these reports.
