Game Day: 12/6/2014 Illinois 70 – American 55

Game Day Saturday, December 6th, 2014
Illinois 70 – American 55

I vaulted towards Champaign for this game, knowing for the first time since the mid 90’s I would not see my good friend the late Wayne McClain.  This game was played in the first half at a yearning pace, American University plays at one of the slowest tempo of anyone in the country even while running their noted Princeton offense, they would have had to operate with perfection to defeat the Illini whose depth basically wore down their under-manned squad from the Patriot League.  The Illini bench scored 28 points while Malcolm Hill led the assault with 13 points and Pee Gardner led America with 16.
