Geneva 57 – Lake Park 52 (2 OT)

One heck of a game, this was a classic nail biter, both teams played as hard as I’ve seen anytwo squads compete all year.  If you could not handle the ball and make decisions, you couldn’tplay in this contest, both teams were strong defensively.  This game was what a high-schoolplay-off contest  should  be about,  pure  hoops no antics.   Lake Park’s  senior  guard MarcusMcDaniel’s turn-around three-pointer from thirty feet with 1.5 seconds left forced a doubleover-time.  Lake Park nearly pulled-off-the upset forcing sure handed Geneva into 18 turn-overs.  Buffalo recruit Nate Navigato capped the night with 16 points many of them coming inthe  over-time session,  he  also  collected  7  rebounds.   Six  foot  eight  junior  center  LoudonVollbretch was a difference –maker, a true stud, the massive bruiser hammered-out 15 pointsand 8 boards to go with a few bone shattering screens.  Genneva will move on to Peoria, wherethey will take on Normal Community Fri 3/20 at 8:15 pm.
