A Guide to Division 2 and Small College Prospects

A Guide to Division 2 and Small College Prospects
“Not to take-away anything from any young player’s dream, these are the players on this particular board.”  Will add more later.

Jake Ludwig    6-1    G    St. Charles North – “Can play on both sides of the ball; very shrewd, and a hard-nose performer; he could fit into a good D2 situation.”

Chris Edomwande    6-6    F    Chicago Lindblom – “All tournament selection at Romeoville; the lefty has some moderate division 2 interest; could be a good player one day.”

Jesse Young    6-2    F    Chicago King – “An explosive jump-n-jack; very good scorer along the baseline; potential game changer; D2 watch list.”

Jordan Anderson    6-2    G    Bartlett – “The lefty has some explosiveness to his game; a capable spot-up shooter & potential strong defender; productive player even when he’s not required to score a lot.”

Joe Larry    5-10    G    Hales Franciscan – “This kid could be all-conference two way player in a competitive small college setting; very solid all-around performer; respected 3 pt threat; has winning intangibles.”

Jelani Sankey    6-2    G    Chicago Kenwood – “Limited ball-handling, but has demonstrated consistently the ability to make shots in big games.”

Chris Orange    6-2    G    Jacobs – “Combo type; has a good motor and physically nice frame; but he has to learn the game & understand shot selection & possessions; has the length to be a good defender.”

Keeshawn Palmer    6-5    F    Chicago Vocational – “Plays strong on the baseline; knows how to maneuver around defenders; versatile enough to play some on the perimeter; a good look’n D2 recruit; he wouldn’t be far away from a physical stand point.”

Jeremy Ruffin    6-4    SF    Rich-South – “A hard working competitor; not overly athletic, but relentless on the glass; Ruffin has to improve with finishing plays at the rim; he’d be a stud at the D3 level.”

Erion Moore    6-2    WG    Hales Franciscan – “Superb athlete; this young lefty has some arsenal to his game; he just doesn’t have it on display to frequent; he could flourish in the right setting; possible D2 recruit.”

Grant Gibson    6-1    G    Galesburg – “Combo with a scoring mentality was a leader on the floor to a squad that is off to a 15-0 start before he tore his ACL over the xmas break.”

George Sargeant    6-6    SF    Maine South – “Sneaky athleticism; brings winning intangibles to the floor; this kid has a ton of small college interest as well as division two’s over-analyzing his abilities.  A competitor!”

Tyler Pygon    5-10    PG    Providence Catholic – “Serviceable ball-handler; general; rarely turns-it-over; makes good reads; respected perimeter shooter; valuable pick-up for Millikin College.”
Chris Lester    6-6    F    Barrington – “Versatile player; not super athletic, but compensates by playing within his strengths; Lester has a growing list of D2 interest.”

Mark Falotico    6-1    G    St. Viator – “Tough-minded combo; didn’t draw the interest he hoped for during the spring/summer, now looks like he might be pressing some; good player, has big game experience Northern Michigan may pursue.”

Tanner Gardon    6-7    F/C    Elgin-Larkin – “Plagued by inconsistency; some days you see him he looks like he wants to play, other days he’s just out there; he may needs some time to figure out if he has the passion to hoop.”

Jamaya Wyatt    6-5    SF    Chicago Uplift – “He’s played well during the city play-off run; kind of hit a wall in terms of growth as a player at Uplift; good athlete; limited scorer; could use a change of scenery; possibly one year at a juco may help.”

Tobi Ewuosho    6-3    G/F    Chicago Lincoln Park – “Intriguing athlete; still lacks the necessary skills to flourish at a D2, but with some polish of ball-handling, decision making and outside shooting his fortunes could soar.

Will Presson    6-9    C    Belleville West – “At 230 pounds to go with his length and his ability to score in the paint, which he showed at the Centralia Holiday Event makes him a priority with D2’s, but the question lies, does he have passion for the game.”

Elijah Henry    6-6    SF    Evanston – “Probably suited for a D2 or a small college setting, even though he has aspirations of playing at St. Johns; quality athlete; skills coming along; maybe one year at a junior college will help his growth as a player.”

Rahman Katumbusi    6-2    G    Chicago Kenwood – “Within the last month or so he has been his team’s most consistent scorer & leader; a good D2 small college recruit; big gamer.”
Niko Kogionis    6-2    WG    Carl Sandburg – “Set his school record for three pointers made; very accurate marksmen; 4 or 5 division 3’s have shown strong interest.”

Chris Roycroft    6-7    SF    Willowbrook – “Has the ability to step-out on the perimeter & make shots from 15-20 ft; he just needs to build his body; also promising baseball player.”
James Pruitt    6-7    F/C    De LaSalle – “Has drawn some interest from lower division ones, but probably more suited for a D2 or small college experience; his skills are intriguing; still needs to learn the game though.”

David Holiday    6-4    SF    DePaul Prep – “Very good athlete; an undersized interior player; this kid is a superb shot-blocker and scores around the rim well.  Where are you North Park?”
Davonte Williams    6-9    C    Cahokia – “A bit of a project, but coaches and observers around him may pencil him in for a junior college experience.”

Riley Doody    6-1    G    St. Ignatius – “A gamer; proved-it with a half-court shot at the buzzer to beat DePaul Prep recently; lefty plays with tons of confidence.”

Johnny Fox    6-6    SF    Hales Franciscan – “Potential stud; future could be promising at the right level, which may be a D2 or small college setting; has tendency to linger on the perimeter.”
