JUNIOR COLLEGE PROSPECTS

“We’ll provide a short list of candidates, some may even opt for Prep-School experience. Hopefully most will receive the right advice.”

• William Bynum 6-3 F Chicago Prosser
“Purely excited watching him before late season. Can score in a variety of ways in a hurry. Mid-Major potential.”

• Damaria Franklin 6-3 G/F Niles North
“Swingman type, really good athlete, good spot-up shooter. Potential Mid-Major down-the-road.”

• Isiah Lasenby 6-6 SF Marine Leadership Academy
“An athletic raw prospect. With some skill development work, we could find a Low-Major recruit in 2 years.”

• Jamal Stephenson 6-3 G Niles North
“Has major game; a combo with lethal offensive abilities. Has been hampered by academic woes.”

• Cardell McGee 6-2 G Springfield Lanphier
“Has potential, just needs re-tooling, turn-overs & academics. Has slowed-up his progress.”

• Eddie Creal 6-2 G Romeoville
“Didn’t enjoy the season he envisioned coming over from Joliet West.”

• Toraze Babbs 6-5 SF Chicago Uplift
“This bruiser is starting to mature & understand how he can garner success. He’s be a good pick-up.!

• Barlow Alleruzzo 6-8 SF De La Salle
“Majority won’t agree, but this would be my suggested route for 1year of growth. Has talent, wires need rekindling.”

Illinois cast-off Mark Smith is back on the loose, the Edwardsville native received his release not long after Illini’s last game. After speaking with various social engines surrounding him, he likely will opt for situations such as Creighton, Butler, Boston College, Marquette, Mizzou, or Georgia. Smith has reportedly mentioned never fitting in the offensive scheme at Illinois.

Dwayne Rose was given his request for his release at Toledo last week. The six-foot two Freshman guard from Crete-Monee H.S. has mega potential. Explosive, can really get to the rim & finish. Out-side shooting has improved since high-school. Most of us feel he was misled by the Toledo staff from the beginning. This kid is going to be terrific at his next stop after sitting a year.

Champaign native, Michael Finke will explore his 5th year options by opting not to re-join the Illini next season. Finke’s quest for wanting to join a program where he has a chance to make a NCAA Tournament run is quite understandable.
