Manteno’s
underrated forward Logan Windeier has been shelved with a rib injury all
season, the 6-9 junior was slated to suit-up last week, prognosis indicate that
the coaching staff will take it lite on Windeier a promising prospect. Logan’s development will be followed closely
throughout the course of the next 3 months, he is a perimeter threat with the
ability to put it on the floor and shoot over the top of defenders. The big fella travels with Team Example on
the club circuit.
Highly
touted junior Jeameril Wilson 6-6 of Niles Notre Dame will be out with a broken
hand for an extended period, hopefully he will return before the playoffs. “He has the potential to be a top 10 prospect
by summer’s end, but his perimeter play including his shooting has to be his
primary focus for improving his play.
Former
Illinois Chicago Coach Howard Moore had been working for the Big 10 Network at
the start of the season, but with Bo Ryan’s sudden departure at Wisconsin Moore
was able to return to the bench as an assistant for Greg Gard at his alma-mater. “Talk about the wacky world of college hoops
Chicago-Land folks are excited for Howard’s new beginnings.”
One
of the feel-good stories of the high-school season so far has been the success
of the historically proud Thornton, a program expected to be one of the
perennial leader’s year and year out.
Former standout alum Tai Streets in his first campaign has propelled his
group to an 11-1 start, his Wildcat team’s trademark this season has been their
gritty tough play with the ability to lock-down opponents on defense which
seems to create a significant amount of their offense. Many observers may not realize that Streets
paid his dues coaching freshman A & B teams the last 3 or 4 seasons at
Thornton. Kudos to him and his patience
because huge dividends will pay-off for him in the long haul.
