SUM-UP

A high number of no shows did not ruin the vibe for me or our crew on hand working this event. In fact, we were collectively enthusiastic regarding some of the young talent we saw on hand and as each prospective player left the building, we knew something about his game/play. While planning & preparing for this event, I knew first-hand the potential challenges that could await. Often we view as working versus climate & landscape this time of year. We won’t surrender though, just as most of our events, it comes with a re-structuring process; and if we continue to render a quality setting, growth will prevail. There were some potentially good players in the two classes assembled; we certainly had things framed correctly, now we have the forum to build on this. Former DePaul Assistant Coach and former Northern Illinois Administrator & Assistant, Robert Collins kick-started the camp with an impactful message to players & parents; former DePaul & U. Conn Assistant Coach, Pat Sellers followed Collins with a reminder of how enthusiastic attitude could lead to a promising career in hoops and beyond.
