On
Saturday I rolled over to DePaul on their bustling Lincoln Park campus for
their Elite Camp. There were 90 plus players’ on-hand, but the stunting
revelation for me was the collection of miscellaneous spectators positioned and
ready for viewing. In addition the large contingent of parents at these events,
sort a resembles a family outing, there was a period where these Elite camp
venues use to only house players, coaches, and random evaluators like myself.
Today’s castings contribute effectively for the host schools such as DePaul and
UIC. Coaches have the luxury of establishing some camaraderie with the parents
& various family members.
The
hardest part of scouting & evaluating today is understanding your coverage as
well as the whole climate you chart! All scouts have their own personal lens
and approach for covering the basics.
