From End of July 2014 Issue
- Bryan Heath 6’4” G LM+ SR Rockridge H. S./Illinois Irish
Combo who makes good decisions, knocks-down jumpers consistently, has 3 pt. range, can get into the lanes to create some for himself; vastly undervalued. I think guys are sleeping on him, he’s a valuable plug to the Irish’s scheme of things. “Watch him in Kansas City this week."
- Tyler Seibring 6’7” F MM SR Normal Community/Net Gain
Scrap all the crap about what he isn’t, this kid is a winner. He makes shots in which he displayed against King James in a big-time contest where he registered 26 points and nailed seven 3’s. He’s starting to rack-up a few offers. Very clever around the rim knows how to position himself around the rim. Tyler has good footwork & assortment of moves 12 ft in. Just received an offer from Northern Illinois. Patriot League Schools also are zeroing in on him. Vegas 48 this week.
- Cole Harper 6’5” G LM+ SR Chatham Glenwood/IL Irish
More of a combo guard than a true point; prone now to turnovers, but he’s opened some eyes in Milwaukee with his ability to score some by-the-way of his jumper or slashing. Tends to struggle getting around defenders though. Grabbed some interest from a few DI’s after a solid outing at NY 2 LA. Dartmouth seems to be in deep.
- Christian Williams 6’5” WG MM+MM SR Decatur St. Teresa/IL Irish
“This dude has about as much talent as anyone in the 2015 class.” He has confidence issues; one main ingredient that needs to improve immediately should be placing more focus on performing in settings where the stage is conducive for him to showcase his widely combination of skill/athleticism; he can score in a variety of ways. What he doesn’t grasp right now is he’s not going to get this stage or moment back. He plays in a small school setting where he’s not going up against the likes of Dennis Smith (Team Loaded) every other night. Now is the time for him to audition the talents he’s equipped with. High-majors and a slew of mid-majors are pounding his phone lines.
- Allen Billinger 5’10” PG LM+ SR Carbondale/IL Bears
Vastly underrated; plays somewhat in obscurity; but last week in Milwaukee he had opportunity to show coaches he’s a quality playmaker. Billinger has good speed & quickness with the ability to play at different speeds. In addition he’s a superb pull-up jump shooter, handles himself well under pressure. Teaming with Caldwell County’s (KY) Eli Pepper with the bears they drew an audience of observers last week.
- Frederick King-Scott 6’6” G/F MM SR Chicago Simeon/IL Celtics
“What a throwback name.” The last few days in Milwaukee he had observers scratching for his where-abouts/information regarding his previous status since Simeon was his listed high-school. Well, he’d been to Oak-Hill prep for a few years. Didn’t suit-up at all last season in which he grew to six foot six. Just a year ago or so he was a mere 6’1” or 6’2”. King-Scott has shown he’s ambidextrous, you can see those skills in certain phases of his game; he practically plays full time on the perimeter, not much of a defender either. He’s looking for a different team to go out with this week.
- Dylan Miller 6’9” F/C MM-LM+ SR Hillsboro/IL Irish
Intriguing prospect; handles himself well on the perimeter (12 ft-15 ft); excellent high-post passer capable of knocking-down foul-line extended jumpers or along the baseline. Sufficient rebounder; plays hard/competes. Played well against Team Loaded in a quarter-final match-up which lead to an offer from Northern Illinois where he could be a perfect fit. Dylan is a nice intangible piece to a rising program
- Fred Sims 6’3” WG LM+ SR Chicago North-Lawndale/Full Package
“This kid has some offensive prowess you can’t teach.” Strong/tough very confident player; needs some polish in areas of his game in terms of understanding situations. He’s a legit scorer with a promising future. Horizon League/MAC.OVC need to pay close attention to his development.
- Joseph St. Pierre 6’9” C ------- 2017 Burton-Richmond/WI Playground Warriors
This big skilled post-player was spotted at NY 2 LA event; promising prospect; good mobility-dynamite passer; he’s smart and tough; looks like he will get better; offensive game is still on the developmental stages, he is added to a slew of quality prospects to a constantly growing 2017 grid.
- Octavius Parker 5’11” G ------- 2017 Gordon Tech/Playground Elite (IL)
“A smooth unflappable player” Nice jump-shooter with 3 pt. range; he can consistently drain them; plays at a nice pace; has a good feel for situations during a contest; averaged a cool 15.8 per outing last season as a first year varsity player; very bright future.
