UP-SHOTS - TOP PERFORMERS AT PANGOS ALL-MIDWEST

Highly touted sophomore guard Jeremy Fears Jr. has grown somewhat antsy over the uncertainty of a hoop season. Reportedly he will continue to polish his game at La Lumiere Prep over in Indiana. Fears has an offer from Illinois and several other high-majors, I guess he feels he has a lot at stake with national profile.

A shoutout to my local guys out here on the hoop front lines making a conscientious effort to assure that some of our youngsters are receiving the necessary recognition and exposure they deserve during a Pandemic crisis. These guys have formed a nice partnership for sharing. These guys are: Lefty Boyd-Illinois High School Hoop Heads; Derek Ellison-National Prep Round Ball; Big Tim Coleman-Inside High School Basketball Review; Ricky Moore-Youth Junior Hoops Elite; Damion Porter Sr.-Team Illinois US Basketball; Kevin Dennis-Illinois High School Sports Central.

Six-foot six Donald Coates is on the move again, he left Thornton to attend school in Indianapolis recently. He spent his first 2 years at Thornwood and his junior year he suited up with the Wildcats.

TOP 30 PLAYERS/PROSPECTS IN 2023 CLASS

This is a group with enormous amount potential, several of them have already received Division One offers despite of limited viewing during this Pandemic crisis. Us locals would not be surprised to see five or six players from the Class eventually play their way into the National Top 100 rankings. Let’s take a look at our Top 30 during this particular time.

NAME / HT / POS /  RANK  /  HIGH SCHOOL

·        Javonte “J.J.” Taylor          6-7      WF      1                      Chicago Kenwood

·        Davius Loury                        6-7      WF      2                      Chicago Kenwood

“Arguably could have the most up-side potential of anyone in the group. Athletic equipped with a sound skill package. Offers from Illinois and DePaul.”

·        Matas Buzelis                      6-8      WF      3                      Hinsdale Central

“Lithuanian fella has some serious high-major potential, at his length he already has the skill package & athleticism to attract the power schools. Matas just landed an offer from Illinois. The little we’ve saw of him was eye popping. We will look to see him at Pangos this weekend.”

·        Dalen Davis                          5-11   PG       4                      Whitney Young
