UPPER DETAILS

Us locals can't help but admirably catalog the performances of Illinois products, who have carved out a fine College season thus far. A candidate for player of the year in the Big 10 is Ohio State's, red shirt Junior forward Keita Bates-Diop (Normal U-High). Wisconsin's Ethan Happ, another red-shirt Junior from our talented 2014 Class has played exceptionally well for a short-handed Badger squad. Happ is from Rockridge which is near the Quad Cities. Glynn Watson who hails from St. Joseph, has spearheaded Nebraska's run to near the top of the Big 10. His team-mate, Sophomore Isiah Roby from tiny Dixon Illinois, has come on strong in recent weeks, demonstrating the kind of potential we often pegged his future to be. Dayton's forward, Josh Cunningham (Morgan Pk) is another product from the 2014 Class, has been a formidable force in the rugged Atlantic 10 Conference. Villanova point-guard, Jalen Brunson (2015) happens to be one of the front-runners for College player of the year honors, laced his sneakers up at Stevenson. It's always fascinating to see how our elite talent who opt to play out-side the area/state, as to how their potential would prevail in coming years.

Kenwood 57 - Lincoln Park 42
"This second-round play-off clash was billed as a big game tussle between two of Chicago Public Schools finer academic programs. In some instances, the two mirror one another within their neighboring culture. From the very onset, Kenwood scooted in as visitors with a chip on it's shoulders and ousted the inexperienced Lincoln Park squad from the city play-offs. The home team looked doom from the start missing 6 foul shots in the 1st quarter. Seniors, Nas Turner, R.J. McGhee, and Artese Stapleton were too stifling. The Broncos also received stellar performances from
the Stewart twins, Andrew & Elijah. Lone-bright spot for Lincoln Park was Junior guard Tahir Thompson, a six-foot two explosive guard.

Mizzou rolled in here and nabbed a commitment from top Senior guard Xavier Pinson last week. The slithery six-foot three Simeon point-guard has displayed a wealth of ability this season, gliding & spinning his way around defenders. Pinson, has an exciting arsenal to his game, that may require him to put the breaks on some of his high-risk maneuvers, particularly late in games where possessions are so valued. "He says he chose Missouri, because of an opportunity to immediately step-in and play. Well, we all know Cuonzo isn't going to stand along the side-lines watching carless miscues. We here really like his potential. Assistant Coach, C. Mann did a great job pitching the Columbia environment while Wisconsin, Dayton, Georgetown, and Rutgers made a late push and were finalist.
