Chicago area was stricken with sadness over the passing of highly respected sports agent, Henry Thomas. The Chicago based agent was 64, he represented notable NBA players Tim Hardaway, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Lindsey Hunter. Hank was a stand-out guard at Harlan High-School late 60's & 70's. He also went on to play collegiately at Bradley. His services will be held Friday morning, February 2nd at the Bulls Advocate Practice Facility. His presence in the industry will be well missed.
"Last week Curie visited 'Simeon' for a game billed as the 2nd bout. The 1st clash Simeon won (championship game last month at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament). Well, won't you know," the officiating pretty much validated most area viewers' opinions; the officiating this season hasn't been an exhibit of excellence.
Tennessee State absolutely landed a pair of gems. Curie's six foot eight front-court twins, Treavon & Tyree Martin have the potential to catch the Ohio Valley Conference by a storm before their career ends. The pair plays above the rim while playing hard & they are pretty good shot-blockers. Both are starting to finish better at the rim now.
Evanston freshman swingman, Blake Peter's became a folk hero around Evanston when his seventy-five foot heave beat Maine South at the buzzer over the week-end. Peters, a sharp shooter, has been a steady contributor all season, he's been one of the area's top first year players.
