Dinos Trigonis invaded LaGrange, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, this past weekend, for the sole purpose of operating his flagship Pangos Camp. An enterprise I might assume has become quite lucrative for Trigonis the Long Beach, CA native. In addition Dinos had a contingent of national scouts on-hand such as Van Coleman (The Basketball Channel), Clark Francis (Basketball Times), Frank Burlison (BurlisonOnBasketball.com), and then us local coverage carrier’s Derrick Ellison (Prep Hoops Report), Roy & Harv Schmidt (Bullseye Prep), Joe Henricksen (City/Suburban Report), Scott Burgess (PrepHoopsIllinois.com). That collection of eyeballer’s could draw an American Idol Contestant to a two day Track & Field meet. This Midwest Pangos venue did not have nearly the surplus of talent I spotted at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif serveral weeks ago, but this was a quality event that served it’s purpose, particularly to view our area prospects.
