Spot-Liter’s Top 10 Div 2 – Div 3 - Small College Recruits

Spot-Liter’s Top 10 Div 2 – Div 3 - Small College Recruits
  • Andre Raiford    6-5      F            De LaSalle – This silky athlete can be the face of a program, he’s a blue print commodity; great student – rising game; had 31 last week in a three point loss to Mount-Carmel.
  • Alonzp Chatman          6-8        F/C   Morgan Park – 25 on ACT – 4.2 GPA; this scrappy utility clone battles & competes nightly; over-all we’ve seen vast improvement in his play.  He could play a major supporting role for the right program.
  • Lou Griffith        5-8      G           Washington (IL) – Knows how to play; lil fellow got mad squabbles; he knows how to bring-it nightly; he’s fearless & confident; plays a scoring role for his team, but handles & views the game well enough to be a PG.
  • Marcus Latham 6-4      G           Alton – This lefty can go on a scoring spree most nights – other outings, he doesn’t look connected with mates. Latham has a nice offensive flow; defensively he needs to be activated.
  • Miles Curry        6-5      WF        Chicago Kenwood – Sparkled over the past weekend during the city tourney.  Enhanced his value on the big stage; made timely shots; attached the rim fearlessly & was a good defender.
  • Anthony D’Avanzo    6-8        F/C   Niles Notre Dame – A sneaky athletic baseliner; considered one of the leaders for a streaking Don’s team.  Most of us thought he could end up at Cal-Davis, but that kinda conversation has been mute of late.  D’Avanzo starting to show signs of stepping outside the paint, 12-15.  D2’s where are you?
  • Mike Dade         6-9      PG         Quincy – Saw him on a big stage, this lil gamer didn’t disappoint, he brought his A game versus 3A favorite Althoff.  Dade is a poised floor general, possess a calming presence.  He knocks down big shots.
  • Darius Branch    5-8      PG         Chicago Leo – He has enjoyed a phenomenal year, this jet quick performer was recently named All-Catholic League a prestigious honor.  He can really get in the lanes & dish to open-mates & he shoots the rock well on the perimeter a small college deluxe.
  • Charlie Boyle     6-8      F/C        Fenwick – Fenwick’s late season push has given the unsung senior a chance to gain some valuable minutes as well as much needed recognition.  He’s a bouncy high-energy interior who will occasionally surprise opponents with his abilities to make plays at the rim.  Roosevelt, North-Park, Illinois-Benedictine, North-Central, Governor’s State should pursue.
  • Jon Marrotta  6-6       F          Lincoln Way West – Somewhat of an enigma, has some talent but has toiled with pursuers; slender athlete but unsure if he really wants to play; maybe it’s a South Suburban stigma.
