players, as well as up-coming talent.
With our experience in planning and
organizing the Spot-Lite Events, each
participant will be placed in a setting
where he could showcase his strengths.

We will tip off Saturday, September 12th with the high-school team format taking center stage at 3:30pm. The school division will feature high-school programs from the southern & central part of the state, also joining the competitive field will be teams from our neighboring states Indiana and possibly Iowa. The tournament alignment will resume play on Sunday morning with some key match-ups taking place as the team vie for the Spot-Lite Fall Championship.
Notable Teams Committed: Metamora, Von Steuben, Lake Park, Fenwick, Farragut, Plainfield Central, East Aurora, De LaSalle, Lincoln Park, Thornridge, Springfield Lanphier, North Scott (Iowa), Hammond High (IN), Indianapolis Lawrence North, Decatur MacArthur, East St. Louis, Plainfield South, Hales Franciscan, Hyde Park, Richards, Willowbrook.
Sunday’s early matinee will feature blue chip prospects from across the state, most will strut in with their collection of press-clippings saddled in their backpacks. We have a surplus of 2016 prospects arriving who will be out to prove they have been vastly under-evaluated with their recruitment. Our 2017 and 2018 classes will be well represented by some notable young up & coming players. Then there will be some 15-20 prospects who will be under the radar and this event will be their coming-out-party where they can make a splash and create some buzz/coverage for themselves.
The cozy Plainfield Central facility which houses 5 courts with spectator seating surrounding them.

Elyjah Goss a Plainfield East six foot seven forward gave Jason Gardner and the IUPUI program a verbal on Wed, 9/2/2015. Goss labeled an untapped talent right now, but has a wealth of potential, he’s a superb athlete with improving skills. He will be a major plus for their program as Gardner continues to build the blocks for a successful long-term run in his hometown of Indianapolis.
Lightening quick playmaker Martez Cameron latched-on late at Morgan State, the former De LaSalle stand-out spent his junior campaign at a prep-school in Florida. Cameron should contribute immediately to Todd Bozeman’s Baltimore area program.
Despite of a drowsy spring/summer St. Joe’s Nick Rakocevic still has some household schools highly interested in his services: Wisconsin, UCLA, Creighton and USC. Nick is still considered a top 5 prospect in the 2016 class, right now he’s probably plagued by some immaturity issues. “He will grow from a little turmoil this summer and mature from it.”
Talented 6-5 guard/forward Kevin Kreiger rolled the dice in July and came-up big, landing interest from schools like Cal Poly, UIC, Evansville, Princeton, South Dakota, Youngston State, Toledo, all cultivated from a sparkling showing in Las Vegas. The Plainfield North sleeper elected to leave a safe secure setting with the “Taw Program” for greener pastures with the Mac Irvin Fire where he was able to enhance his profile. Here at the Spot-Lite we have always been intrigued by Kreiger’s potential, so it wasn’t a surprise when we heard about his feats. He’s a good athlete & capable perimeter shooter, but still needs to be more reliable on the outside.
Northern Illinois landed a commitment from 6-3 sharp shooter Nick Wagner out of Wisconsin today, 9/6/2015 which occurred on his official visit. I really like how the Huskies have expanded their recruiting base, capitalizing on a 150 mile radius (Iowa & Quad Cities area, Indiana, Wisconsin, Rockford and the suburban areas of Chicago, then sprinkle in a city kid or two). The Huskies successful years that was the demographic formula towards their winning culture/environment. The fan base in Huskie land as well as the Chicago area masses will begin to see the residuals from Coach Mark Montgomery and his staff this season.
Metamora was elated regarding the arrival of six foot one Dallas Morgan from Dunlap where the senior averaged 16.9 markers per outing as a junior. He and Nate Kennel and Co. can be seen at the Spot-Lite Fall Event, Sept. 12th & 13th in Plainfield.
Morgan Park’s 5-11 guard Jarrin Randle gave a verbal to Western Michigan during his visit over the weekend. He could really develop into a special contributor for Steve Hawkins Bronco program, he’s a vastly improved player.
